There are several good definitions that have been given but certainly the respect for human life from conception to natural death would be included in them all. And while the term pro-life often refers to the pre-born, all human lives have equal worth and deserve equal protection and respect.

After murdering his brother Cain asks God in Genesis, "Am I my brother's keeper?" God's reply was, "Your brother's blood cries out to me from the ground." God admonishes us throughout the bible to value and protect our brothers and that also includes our sisters.
