This unique book is a
must read for anyone who wants to understand the modern gay rights
movement in the United States. This book is an accurate first hand account written by former Congressman William "Bill" Dannemeyer who was there shortly after gay activists began an all out battle with congress in the early to mid 70's over getting gay friendly legislation passed, often with large amounts of funding attached. This book also explains how gay activists took over the American Psychological Association and were able to rewrite the APA's definition of homosexuality through political activism. Now homosexuality was no longer listed as a treatable disorder even though many doctors in the association had documented accounts of successful treatment for clients who had sought out counseling concerning their unwanted same-sex attractions.
